If you’re looking around for a company that will provide you with a merchant account credit card, there’s obviously a lot to consider in making your choice. The percentage of funds the company retains is one such important consideration. A lot of these account providers will insist that you keep a certain amount or percentage of your funds in the account. Usually, it will be 5% of the total funds retained and this will be held for at least six months. The purpose is for you to have cash ready just in case you will be paying chargebacks for invalid card transactions.
