Ever since he was a little boy, my son has loved martial arts. It started with that cartoon about the turtles who did karate, and from there grew into karate classes. I have told him that he should think about teaching one day, but he says he won’t ever teach. My Uncle was the only hunter in the family. Well, he wanted me to learn but I was just not interested in shooting down birds. For me, that’s just not right. Well everyone have their own opinions. What I won’t forget though is his gun dog. It’s a well trained dog who is very protective and obedient. I know that when my uncle goes on hunting, he’ll be safe. His gun dog seems to be ready to risk his life for him. I guess that’s what gun dog training does. They become your bodyguards and at the same time, your friends.
Our track coach always has a few tricks up his sleeve, and last month he told us that he was going to bring a guest coach to come help out for a few of our practices. We didn’t think too much about it, but when we saw that it was the head coach of the local university track team, we realized that he meant business. He taught us some new methods of sprinting mechanics, and it helped each one of us do better for our team. At the very next meet, we did much better than the other team, and it was nice to come away from the meet in victory.
I worked really hard to get all the weight off before summer because I wanted to look really good for those summer clothes, not to mention the bathing suits. Now that summer is almost over I can feel that I am beginning to eat a bit more even though my workouts are still strong.
