My mother-in-law died last year as a result of Alzheimer’s disease. It was a slow, lingering process, which almost tore my husband apart. Now, he is thinking he will probably have Alzheimer’s some day. The doctors tell him that it is not necessarily hereditary, but it is still in the back of his mind. Almost everyone has heard of Alzheimer’s. I purchased one of the Alzheimer’s awareness bracelets in an effort to commemorate her death, and it helps the Alzheimer’s Association in two ways. Of course, they get a percentage of the proceeds; but the more exposure Alzheimer’s gets, it may lead to more research funding.
